Erik Bengtzboe, ordförande för Moderata ungdomsförbundet, menar att man inte får en plattform gratis, utan vill man nå ut måste man arbeta hårt, men även lyfta frågor som är relevanta och intressanta.
Erik Bengtzboe berättar att MUF inte fokuserar på någon specifik plattform framför någon annan, utan menar att traditionella medier och sociala medier går hand i hand.
− Vill man nå ut brett med en fråga gör man det enklast genom traditionella medier, medan vi går genom sociala medier när vi vill nå ut direkt till våra medlemmar.
Som ungdomsförbund tycker han att de tas på allvar då de representerar unga som är en viktig grupp i samhället. I jämförelse med sitt moderparti ser han MUF som mer framtidsinriktade och moderna.
− Vi har en vinkel och erfarenhet som ungdomsförbund som eftersöks. Jämfört med vårt moderparti har vi mer fokus på att göra en bättre värld för morgondagen, ungdomsförbund måste våga blicka lite längre fram och se hur man ska göra för att ta sig dit.
Inte alla frågor intressanta för debatten
För att ha inflytande över agendan menar Erik Bengtzboe att man måste ha förtroende. Vill man ha utrymme måste man ha något relevant och intressant att föra till bordet, säger han. Han tror på hårt arbete, men menar att agendan inte sätts av något enskilt parti utan gemensamt utifrån vilka frågor man vill driva och vilka frågor som folk tycker är intressanta.
− Många verkar vilja driva sin egen linje och sedan tycker de att det är synd att inte andra vill diskutera samma ämne. Ibland vill man ändå driva saker som inte är direkt intressanta. Man ska vara trogen sina idéer, men samtidigt måste man ha något att tillföra.
För stor fokus på siffror
I debatten om ungdomsarbetslösheten upplever Erik Bengtzboe att medierna ofta missar perspektivet att det är fråga om en stor samhällsutmaning, som inte bara är en uppgift för ett parti utan för hela samhället att finna lösningar på. Han talar också om en enorm fokus på statistik och siffror kring hur många som är arbetslösa.
− Oavsett om det är många eller få handlar det om människor som tidigt i livet ställs utanför och inte får bli vuxna. Det borde lyftas fram mer personliga aspekter istället för att man tittar på mängden.
Själv anser han att MUF har spelat en stor roll för ungas situation på arbetsmarknaden.
− Man måste våga presentera egna lösningar och kämpa för att nå ut. Det är viktigt att jobba brett på alla fronter och även driva frågorna internt mot vårt eget parti. När man orkar allt arbete som det innebär så når man ibland framgång.
